If You Can’t Beat ‘Em . . . Eat ‘Em!

Giant jellyfish have been invading Japanese waters, cutting off the country’s food supply. But locals are making the best of it — instead of just complaining about the jellyfish they’re eating them! They are promoting jellyfish as a novelty food, sold dried and salted, and have even managed to turn them into tofu.
Thanks Evie and KK!

That is a very large jellyfish. I would be a little worried if I saw that thing in the water.
ah, those Japanese….no intrepid
now, how does one turn a fish product into a soy product…?
Japanese are good in seafood making. Yummy jellyfish… but tofu? could be some sort of seafood tofu i guess.
Those Japanese folks are veddy clever!
wow… that thing is huge!
But I could totally see it as a “theme ingredient” on the original Iron Chef…
Hehe…Iron Chef rocks.
Leave it to the Japanese to be so insighful!
Us stupid Americans would be like, “Hmmm…well if we give the jellyfish Rat Poison…”
That thing scares me to death.
I’d eat that shit.
Imagine if that thing was a giant psychedelic mushroom.
It probably is a fat shroom and that’s why everyone’s like, ooooo novelty food!
ooooo novelty food!
