Bindi Irwin’s Show On Hold
The late Steve Irwin’s daughter, Bundi, is going to have to wait a year before starring in her new TV nature series, Bindi, the Jungle Girl. Bindi was set to star in the 26-part series on Discovery Kids network following her father’s death from a stingray barb. But John Stainton, the family’s manager, said filming was on hold until he completed a year-long holiday in the wake of his close friend’s death.
The delay, Stainton said, had nothing to with criticism by conservative Australian Upper House Senator Bill Heffernan that the youngster could be exploited by ratings-hungry TV producers.
“I can’t understand what all the fuss is about,” Stainton told Australian newspapers, adding he was “fed up” with the furore about Bindi’s future. “As far as I know, only one person has said this. That’s not public opinion.”
Discovery Channel Publicist Annie Howell said Bindi and her U.S.-born mother, Terri, were determined to go ahead with the series and there was no pressure on them from the network.

I think that Bindi’s tv show is a great way to honor her father’s death. She is obviously a very strong girl and these kinds of characteristics should be displayed for all other children who have lost a loved one. She may very well be a rolemodel of strength for children.

Your father was such an amazing man - so full of life and passion and love for animals and other humans. He was a rare breed on this earth and I see in you what I saw in him. me and my daughter had the pleasure of meeting you last friday and even though you and your family where in a rush you still found time to talk to us and jade is still talking about you. It broke my heart seeing you all without your dad but you are all very strong and i think you have all done dam well in the circumstances you have had to deal with in the last year. you are a wonderful little girl and keep smiling sweetheart.
