Bindi Irwin’s Show On Hold

bindi-irwin.jpg
The late Steve Irwin’s daughter, Bundi, is going to have to wait a year before starring in her new TV nature series, Bindi, the Jungle Girl. Bindi was set to star in the 26-part series on Discovery Kids network following her father’s death from a stingray barb. But John Stainton, the family’s manager, said filming was on hold until he completed a year-long holiday in the wake of his close friend’s death.

The delay, Stainton said, had nothing to with criticism by conservative Australian Upper House Senator Bill Heffernan that the youngster could be exploited by ratings-hungry TV producers.

“I can’t understand what all the fuss is about,” Stainton told Australian newspapers, adding he was “fed up” with the furore about Bindi’s future. “As far as I know, only one person has said this. That’s not public opinion.”

Discovery Channel Publicist Annie Howell said Bindi and her U.S.-born mother, Terri, were determined to go ahead with the series and there was no pressure on them from the network.

Is it wrong that I about die laughing every time I hear “Bindi the Jungle Girl”?

  2. 2monica

I think that Bindi’s tv show is a great way to honor her father’s death. She is obviously a very strong girl and these kinds of characteristics should be displayed for all other children who have lost a loved one. She may very well be a rolemodel of strength for children.

  3. 3Ellisha

Because Marcia you are probally a very vain, Narcassistic person.
    Grow up,

  4. 4monique

fuck you monica. why do grieving children have to be “strong” for you?
and fuck you too, ellisha, you humorless douchebag. bindi the jungle girl is FUNNY as shit.

  5. 5Katie

Marcia, I never thought of it that way but now….LMAO! Tarzan’s yell keeps playing in my head!
Monica, I agree with you to. This girl is mature beyond her years and I think she would be a better role model for kids other than whats currently out there.
Oh monique, why the harsh words?

  6. 6Tootie

Monique… are you angry? REOW… put the fingernails away!!!!

  7. 7Trish

    Marcia and Katie…

I hope you get to experience a loss such as that of Bindi Irwin. Then, I hope that you have to give a speech in fron to millions of people on National Television. Then, I hope you choke and everyone starts laughing the a**es off at you, cause that is exactly what you deserve. Go to HELL both of you….

    Dear Bindi,
Your father was such an amazing man - so full of life and passion and love for animals and other humans. He was a rare breed on this earth and I see in you what I saw in him. Your mother is like this also but she is quiet and reserved. You have the capacity to touch millions just as your father did. You have the capacity to change the world with your mothers guidance. Keep doing what you are doing and don’t ever change. You are truly amazing. Wishing peace and comfort to you and your mum.

    dear bindi
me and my daughter had the pleasure of meeting you last friday and even though you and your family where in a rush you still found time to talk to us and jade is still talking about you. It broke my heart seeing you all without your dad but you are all very strong and i think you have all done dam well in the circumstances you have had to deal with in the last year. you are a wonderful little girl and keep smiling sweetheart.

    Hi!

“Stevo” is sorely missed! He was such a cool and brave guy, with a lovely face! I loved his programmes. Unfortunately, I cannot see those any longer, as Animal planet is “out” now. Please pardon my lousy English. I am Danish…from Europe. I only have one thing to say about Steve and Bindy: “WOO HOO! WHAT BEAUUUTIES!” I mean it! I hope, that Bindi will keep loving animals of all kinds. Also those that are not “cuddly and cute.” They have a right to live, too! We must never forget that!

Stay cool, Bindi! Hope, your Mom supports you and your brother and that you are happy kids, despite the loss of your Dad. If he could see you, I am sure, he would be proud!

    Love, Marianne, DK
