Maui Ow-ee at Swim At Your Own Risk

Maui Ow-ee

gruen.jpg
A Canadian visitor was attacked by a shark near at a Maui beach yesterday! Kyle Gruen, 29, was swimming about 30 to 40 feet from the shoreline when an 8-10 ft shark bit him on the left leg and hand. He was left with a 15-inch gash down the top left side of his leg and another wound on the top of his hand. He was able to be stitched up and won’t lose any limbs.

Randy–the article says it happened near Kamaole Beach Park II. A big shark was also spotted near Cove Park a little while after the attack when the patrols made the rounds–don’t know if it was the “offending”shark or not—could have been a different one. Hope that helps….your guests are right to ask….sounds like some big Tiger sharks out there….good luck.

    Mahalo.

I’m with Brenda, never, ever go in the ocean. You will likely die instantaneously!

    hey…thanks for posting my story…

we take risks every day so it would be too bad if you never get to enjoy open water…

Anyways…check out my website if you want to see a couple pics of the aftermath….
