Ringing Stinging In The New Year

Graham Pownceby spent New Year’s on crutches after a stingray barb spiked a hole in his fishing wader and slashed through his calf, putting him in hospital for three days. The wound reguired internal and external stitches. Ew. Pownceby’s leg is still braced and bandaged but he hopes to be back on his feet in time for the Amberley surfcasting competition this weekend which he won last year – by successfully hooking a stingray.
