Jellyfish Sting 160 Swimmers!

Over 160 beachgoers were stung by jellyfish in Australia yesterday! Two beaches had to be shut down after the wind blew a swarm of blue bottle jellyfish towards the shore and people starting getting stung by the dozens. Three of the victims even had to be taken to the hospital.

    Just asking…between the sharks, the crocodiles, and the jellyfish…why would anyone in their right mind swim in Australia?

    Well, the beaches are very beautiful in Australia. I guess that’s why people swim there. Or maybe they are just thinking : “that kind of stuff only happens to other people” or something like that. Who knows?

    they’re actually called Portuguese Manowar these gellys… They frikin sting and suposelly are one of the deadliest. A little bigger of course!

    Hey, y’all! I was down in Cape Town in 2000 and got a first hand glimpse of the blue bottles, and YES, in South Africa we also call them blue bottles. I wasn’t stung but hundreds wound up on the beach, we went surfing anyways but kept a close eye out for them, well those, and the GREAT WHITE sharks!!!!!
