Man Eaten By Tiger Shark!

A 36-year-old Brighton man was been eaten by a shark in the Caribbean. Jason Cash was swimming when he went missing off the coast of Costa Rica. His remains later washed up on a beach later. An examination of Mr Cash’s remains revealed the cause of death as drowning but it’s unclear whether he survived the attack and then drowned or was eaten after his death. Apparently, declining fish stocks are driving the man-eating tiger sharks closer to the shore. Great.

And people will still overfish… What a waste! You can’t really blame the shark, as survival IS the strongest instinct in any living being.
and people will still eat fish and so fish will still eat people. guess thats still the chance you take going into the sea…still they dont seem to mind chomping down on people.

I am sorry for you loss, Zara, but it is unfortunately true that as we are destroying these creatures’ natural food stocks, they will seek other prey. Your cousin was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Sorry about that, I have had a friend killed by a great white and 7 friends attacked by sharks in South Africa…my point Zara if you missed it is that sharks are a bit of a problem and I know, the town I surfed alot in in SA has had so many shark attacks and incidents its not funny….your cousin knew the risks just like everyone else who goes into the water.
For many years, humans have been feared due to their man made weapons. They have been the hunters, now when time has proven that humans when out at sea have become the HUNTED ! There are many creatures out in the ocean that humans would never see until they are about to be eaten by that creature.
There are many cases where people are eaten by sharks and it never makes the news ! kids missing at the beach, fishermen missing. Put it like this, a great white shark can leap ovr 20 feet out of the water to catch any prey. That means they can grab you off the deck of the boat or cruise-liner
Sharks have such a bad rep. More sharks are killed by ppl every year than people are even attacked by sharks, nevermind fatalities. Sharks do exactly what they are meant to; hunt, and have lil sharks. If humans enter the water where sharks are they are taking a risk; it’s the sharks habitat, their territory.
sorry for your loss Zara but your cousin knew that he had the chance of this happening.that shark was just doing what it’s suppose to survive because people fish too much.again i’m sorry for your loss but you can’t blame a shark for this because it was just doing what it has to survive.that’s why i never go in the oceans but i respect nature and i hope all people will learn to respect nature too.

first of all, costa rica doesnt really have many shark attacks. ive lived in puerto viejo and never heard of one.
im wondering how they are positive it was a tiger shark…and not a bull shark? was this established in the autopsy by the teeth marks?
zara im sorry for your loss. ive visited that side of costa rica many times and ive heard a lot of people in the area say oh there arent sharks etc. tigers and bulls, especially tigers are capable of this.
i guess its just a risk us ocean swimmers have to take.
