Dan “Capt. Cutless†Meyer made history last Friday when he became the first person in the United States to swallow a steel sword underwater in a tank as live sharks and stingrays swam by.

And because there are very few other people who can do it!
I had swam with sharks when I lived in the Bahamas for 7 years, and now that I have been a sword swallower for the past 6 years, I wanted to see if I could put the two of them together and be the first person in America to do it… And I did!
When Ripley’s Believe It or Not! approached me to do it to promote their “Pirates, Predators of the Sea” exhibit at the Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtle Beach during “Bike Week” where they had 300,000 visitors to the city, it was the perfect match and the perfect time to do it! So we worked on all the details for almost a year before we got all the approvals and permissions to do it. Thankfully everything worked out according to plan and I am still alive to tell you about it!
