Here is what happened:
1. guy boogy boarding
2. wipes out in surf
3. floats into something also twisting in the surf
4. picked it up
5. brought it to shore
6. somebody had a camera and shot the video
7. put the shark back into the water
8. posted on youtube
9. got five million hits and 11,000 comments
10. posting this comment here…

of course the shark was unharmed.

I can tell you truthfully that the shark is real. Also it was not harmed. The barking though was from a dog off camera and I am the first person that put this video on yotube. I got the video from google videos in 06.

There is a such thing as the dogfish shark that does bark and no, getting the shark that for out of water will not kill it, believe it or not most sharks breath air. All of them have to come up to the surface at some point in time to get air and then go back down into the depths; the shark would not have died that quickly. The shark was in no pain. At most he was scared and I’m pretty sure the man put him back, it’s illegal not to.
HOWEVER, I still have a hard time believing that this particular shark is the thing making the barking noise.

okay, just to bring up a point, some sharks may be able to make noises. Shark’s can also be out of the water for a little while. They do get beached sometimes, same as whales. I agree that the poor thing needs to be put into the water, but is what he’s doing so wrong compared to what some of us are? I mean, some people buy dogs to half-starve them then force them to fight. That’s more wrong than what this man’s doing. It’s called curiosity people. Deal with it.

The shark wouldn’t have died by then. It’s not good for them to be out of the water it’s not life threatening for them to be out for a few minutes. The guy probably wasn’t even fishing for sharks it just took the line. Those things are all over the place at the beach.

fake! that is totaly a dog barking. for one a shark doesn’t make any noise and 2 the shark would have died by the time they gotit out and onto the beach that far in. but i hope the shark is ok.
