Man Bitten by “Something” in Fort Lauderdale

got any advil?
A man is recovering after being bitten by some type of fish in the water while swimming at Fort Lauderdale Beach.

Investigators said 57-year-old Dominco Iaciofano was swimming at Northeast 14th Court, just north of Sunrise, around 9:30 a.m.

Iaciofano told paramedics that it was a shark that bit him and that he had to hit the fish on the nose to get it to loosen its grip. Witnesses said the man was screaming as his wife brought him out of the water and she was covered in blood.

When he arrived at Broward General Hospital, his left arm was bandaged from hand to elbow. He had a laceration to his left wrist with a wound about 3 to 6 inches long and a half-inch deep.

Investigators are still unsure whether it was a shark or a barracuda that did the damage.
