BBC to Shoot New Shark Documentary… The Shark Whisperer?

The BBC has commissioned a one-off documentary about a South African attempting to pursue his dream of swimming with great white sharks.The hour-long show will air next fall.
Feeding the Giants will follow Michael Rutzen’s attempts to swim alongside the notorious sharks in the wild and without a cage.
Rutzen believes he can communicate with the “man killers” and become accepted. He wants to study their behavior from close up.

Until someone learns the “precise” body language of white pointers and is able to repeatedly swim with them unharmed, I’m afraid it’ll only remain a dream for me.

He swam with whites in a special during Shark Week. He actually held on to the dorsal fin and it pulled him 75 ft. The next special should be great!
Wasn’t there a Grizzley dude who tried the same thing with bears. Wonder how that went for him.

He has done it before like Bren said.. and he knows what he is doing.
There is a huge difference in the mental capacities between Rutzen and the late Treadwell.
Rutzen actually has a sound method that he has already proven to be successful. Besides… it’s risk and reward.
