A television cameraman in a helicopter caught some footage of a large shark swimming through shallow water off a beach at Byron Bay today.
Just last Thursday two teenage girls had to climb onto a piece of shipwreck to avoid a large shark swimming nearby.
The girls, both 14, spent half an hour on the small section of protruding shipwreck until they were rescued by surfers.
On November 8, Queensland banana farmer Craig Evans was knocked off his surfboard by a large shark, which left bite marks along his board.
In October, local woman Linda Whitehurst was knocked from her surf ski near The Pass, one of Byron’s most popular surf breaks, by what she believed was a white pointer.
I’d say it’s time to try a different beach…
