The World’s Largest Swimming Pool!

massivepool2r_800×372.jpg
The San Alfonso del Mar seawater pool in Algarrobo, Chile has been named the world’s largest outdoor swimming pool by the Guiness Book of World Records. Not to be confused with The Deepest Pool in the World, San Alfonso measures almost 3,500 ft in length and has a surface area of around 20 acres. The pool is about the size of 6,000 backyward swimming pools.

It’s even got ferries to shuttle you from one end to the other. Oh, and no sharks either.

If someone pees in that pool, I guess it wouldn’t make too much difference in the grand scheme of things.

I haven’t mailed off that thing yet Markus, I’ve been sick. I will as soon as I can go out in public without scaring people.

Brenda is an optimist. A pessimist sees that the pool is entirely full of pee.

To pee or not to pee, that is the question.

I’m considering living in South America next winter, and this pool has convinced me that if I do, it should be in Chile.

just a warning if you go traveling here you are only allowed in to see the pool if you are renting an apartment there( i.e staying the night or longer)otherwise they wont let you in- not even if you pay- not even just to take a photo- just thought i would let you guys know :)

i wonder how they put chemicals in the pool if it starts turning green

It is salt walter. They don’t use chemicals. Salt evaporates and naturally chlorinates the pool.
