You’re Getting Very Sleeeepy…

Mike Rutzen, aka the Sharkman, demonstrates how he can induce “tonic immobility” in sharks. It’s a natural state of paralysis created by turning them on their heads and massaging their snouts, close to the eyes.

The effects last for around 15 minutes. Better get outta there quick…

Most species will go into a “trance” like state if they’re rolled over onto their back.
Researches have used that technique to attach tags and take samples from everything from lemon sharks to tiger sharks.

Interesting article though. Funny that they say its a great white….that ain’t not white pointer! lol

well its good to see that somebody is finally using some common sense and wearing a steel-mesh suit. more of these suits should be readily available to divers who wish to swim with sharks because they have been field tested time and time again and they always prove to be “bite- proof.” the shark’s teeth can’t penetrate through the steel so all you feel is pressure.
