UPDATE: Surfer Bitten by Shark at New Smyrna

Turns out yesterday’s attack at New Smyrna Beach was worse than originally reported.
The victim, Joey Giangrasso, was hospitalized Thursday after the shark tore into his foot and leg, leaving broken teeth in the wound.
Doctors said the shark’s teeth sunk in inches from Joey’s major artery
“One of the nurses said it’s the worst (bite) she has seen since she started working at the hospital, victim’s mother, Laurie Giangrasso, said.
Doctors lost count on the number of stitches needed to sew Joey back up.

I guess this is gonna be one busy summer. Maybe I’ll take my kids to the pool instead, since the alligators are frequent visitors at the springs too.
