11th Shark Attack at New Smyrna!

A 6-year-old suffered severe lacerations on the leg during a shark attack at New Smyrna Beach, FL this morning.

The incident happened at about 11:30 a.m. and the child was rushed to a nearby hospital. Investigators told Local 6 News that the child was bitten on the calf.

That makes 11 shark attacks for Volusia County this year… and it’s not even summer yet!

Why in the world are people still swimming there? Let alone letting their kids swim there?

Actually is wasn’t by the jetty which is pretty scary. I’m actually considering hitting the pool this summer, I’m scared to let my kids in the water, heck I’m scared to go in the water myself. We usually stay at either Flagler Av. or if this entrance is closed we go to 27th.
