Packs of Sharks Clear the Water at Australia Beaches

A pack of up to 12 sharks was seen gorging on large schools of bait fish off the Gold Coast in Australia today.

The surf was cleared at Main Beach after reported sightings around 1pm, as the sharks patrolled the water from Surfers Paradise to The Spit.

Up to 18 sharks were sighted from the air, some travelling in a pack of 12 and others on their own, and cruising to within 45 ft of the shore at times.

The sightings follow shark alert warnings issued for Gold Coast and northern NSW beaches last week when heavy rain created perfect conditions for bull sharks.

Look at the dorsal fin and the heads they are all sharks. Dolphins and sharks do not hang out together! It is a school of Bull shark most likely.
