Great White Washes Up in Bahamas… Shark Steaks For Everyone!

Earlier in the week, reports were heard of a white shark, possibly a Great White, washing ashore along the western coast of Grand Bahama. Some of the staff of UNEXSO went to take a look. They were shocked to see that some of the residents in the area were chopping the shark up to take home and eat. Warnings have since come from the Dept of Health not to eat the meat as it has not yet been determined what killed the shark.
Oh, and if you’re planning a trip to Atlantis… well… good luck with that.

im no expert but i would say it looks like it been hit by a boat poor thing only looks a few year old
damn thats messed up… he looks deflated. and how dumb are the residents? if scientists are not yet sure what killed it, why would you eat it???

Even if disease didn’t kill it, why would anyone eat raw meat lying onshore if they didn’t know how long it had been dead?

Great Whites aren’t unheard of in the Bahamas. I remember a diver who had an ecounter with one about 12 years ago near Nassau, and a few weeks later a fishman caught one off of Key Largo. They are out there, and your lucky if you get to see one in your life time.
nasty! I hope all of them come down with some freaky illness just to teach them a lesson! Considering how gross the waters of the oceans are it just creeps me out that they would be content with eating something that just washes ashore one day! It’s not like this is a common event…but alas not everyone is born with common sense!!!
