Still Going In?

If you need more proof that New Smyrna Beach is the shark bite capital of the world, here it is… A local photographer was aiming his camera at the waves a week ago when a shark jumped right into the frame. And right next to two surfers! The spinner shark leapt from the waves, twisted and disappeared. It’s the same spot where sharks have bitten 12 people this year.

And just in time for the weekend! Have fun at the beach.

    oh
    my

instead of the beach, I was thinking about vacationing in a high rise this year. one with a pool

If I read about a highrise pool shark attack next week I will not be the least bit surprised.

Thanks to JAWS, I fear highrise pools too… sharks sharks sharks everywhere… :o

I see spinners in Florida all the time (particularly in March/April during migration)…..very close to shore and rolling in waves (and around people!)…never saw them this clearly though..great stuff…usually see their fins flipping around and see a lot of splashing…..that’s why I am faithfully committed to land! They’re THERE alright.

So Alexia…You’d rather emd up as fish poop than grow up and fall in love, get married, have beautiful children, read good books, hear good music, behold the great plastic arts, have good conversations…

Wonderful that your mum is encouraging you in your dream to be shit out of the south end of a north-bound shark.

i love sharks. they are beautiful creatures that need our respect and understanding. what alot of people seem to forget is that the ocean is THEIR home. they were here before us and they will sure as shit be here after(if we dont fuck it up) dont feed them by hand because it makes them associate people with food, dont swim during their feeding time because you might end up as food. sooo many ways to avoid getting attacked. we just need to educate ourselves and anyone else we happen across. im just a regular girl who is tired of hearing the same nonsensical garbage about it being unavoidable and its their fault. just be smart people. help this amazing animal get a better name for itself.
