The Montauk Monster?
Earlier this week, Gawker posted a picture of what appeared to be a strange sea creature that was washed on the Montauk beach after a storm. The blog post gave several possible explanations for the origin of the bizarre creature, including a possible viral marketing campaign.
The “Montauk Monster,” as it became known, looks kind of like a skinned dog, but has a dinosaur-like beak and pointy teeth. The photo led to debates on what the creature might be, like dog, raccoon and shell-less turtles (even though such an animal doesn’t exist).
Scientists say the monster can’t be any of these creatures. It seems that its feet are too wide apart to be a raccoon, its eye ridge is not that of a dog and turtles don’t have teeth. And its back feet look like sheep feet, while its front ones have strangely elongated paws.
Scientists believe that either the picture was created using Photoshop or that somebody used latex or something to create the strange animal.
You know… the first time a dead platypus was shown to scientists, they thought it was a fake too. Hmmm…

Okay, thats just wierd…also, it seems to be flipping the bird. Wierd…
Everytime a “new” dead animal pic comes out they you only ever see the one. It’s not real until you see it again.
its sooo ugly!!!!!!!!!!!
i think it is a dog but mabey not
In response to Waggss, they did actually find something similar off the coast of Rhode Island, however the snout was more round, and it was blue.
wtf it looks like a grifin but i dont no y its out of my mind.lol. excuse me while i go have nitemares
it looks like a real gargyle those statue bird things on houses except it dontt got wings
It looks like a baby Jabberwock to me. It’s got the same beak and face structure. Can’t say what happened to the wings, if it had any.
The griffin is a good theory to what it is, seeing as how it resembles a dog, has hooves, and a beak like an eagle.
This has already been proven to be a shaved raccoon, with two front teeth missing.
Animal cruelty is bad.
looks like a dead lima from madagasca (look at its ears)
