Montauk Monster a Hoax. Duh.

The monstrous creature that washed up in Montauk, Long Island appears to have been nothing more than a prop from an independent movie about carnies. In other words, it was viral marketing just as everyone initially suspected, until they became convinced it was a dead sea turtle, then the corpse of a dog, then a raccoon, then a pig, and so on. According to Gawker, here’s how the hoax probably went down.

But if it was a hoax, wouldn’t they have made it look a little more…well, monstrous? This doesn’t really strike fear in anyone’s heart, so it doesn’t really make much sense that they’d go to all this trouble to make something that isn’t even all that impressive, just kind of weird.

Using the word monstrous to describe it makes it seem quite large while in fact it is pretty small in size…still not convinced!

Whatever it is, it scared the hell out of me. It has to be one of the creepiest things I have ever seen. Real or not, I would not want to come into any kind of contact with it. I don’t believe its a dog, or a raccoon, or any other kind of creature native to us. I believe it is some kind of mutant or creature exposed to toxic dumping or maybe even radiation. Don’t care what, just keep it away from me.
