Monday, August 25th, 2008

California’s Stinson Beach has been closed to swimmers and surfers after a great white shark was spotted Sunday night.
The shark, which was eight to 10 feet long, was seen about 7 p.m. about 125 yards from shore.
Warning signs have been posted and the Stinson Beach will remain closed until Friday.

thats really scaryyy!!!
but i live in florida.
do they have alot of shark sightings in cali??
Northern CA (San Francisco)has a large great white population and cold waters. Southern CA (Los Angeles/San Diego) does not have many great white sightings. Look up “The Red Triangle”, it’s a GW hot spot that covers a large portion of Northern CA.
I saw a fin stick out of the water yesterday at Dillon Beach, late in the afternoon. My dog had alerted me to it as he barked at the water and we turned and saw it!! Very scary as our dogs had been swimming in the water just minutes before.
Dillon Beach is in Marin County, north of SF for those of you unfamiliar with this coast.
