Another Shark Found on Oregon Beach

According to BeachConnection.net, a four-foot salmon shark is the fourth one to show up on the north coast in the last six weeks.

The shark was found on Cannon Beach and was covered in some strange parasites. It was transported to the Seaside Aquarium at around 10am Wednesday but despite efforts to keep it alive, the shark was dead by 11:30.

The number of salmon sharks showing up on the Oregon coast may be increasing. In 2007 more than 20 sharks washed up on the north and central coast.

Supposedly, salmon sharks aren’t aggressive towards humans, but those teeth tell me otherwise.

That shark needs to brush its gums.

I need to go out to the Seaside Aquarium sometime, it’s been too long. But they keep all the stuff like this in the back. Too bad.

I used to live in Tillamook, and I never went in the water at oceanside beach. All the tales of Tillamook head and the people who camp and surf at the base of Neahkahnie Mountain. I just don’t want to chance it. But if I ever have enough money I will buy a house up there at ocean highlands. What a beautiful place. I love Tillamook County. Just no work right now so I am forced to live in Iowa (don’t get me wrong, I love Iowa too, but the oregon north coast is so mystical.

Most sharks really aren’t that dangerous. And once you work with them they are a lot less scary. I cut one open for a class and learning about them and their behaviors really made it easier to get rid of my fears.
