We were there this weekend and found one its body was about 3ft. just the body. I was cool for the kids to see.

It’s a shame that with all this news NO ONE, NO MEDIA, is publishing pictures of this magnificent creature shot from underwater, while gliding through the seas like space ships. Instead they look like a gory alien mess on the beachs (ONLY). When will we wake up and realize we are a part of a unique miracle and instead of being repulsed by these creatures we could be inspired by the incredible diversity of life on planet earth. By the way we, would also feel repulsed by other carcasas strewn over the beach (human included). Please show a live picture as well, or link us to a shot or site. Life long learning can be a challenge but inspiring and only for those willing and able to go … deep.

I remember the great Humboldt squid invasion of SoCal back in aught-five (or was it aught-four?) Same year as the purple jelly invasion and an extraordinarily large buttload of red tide.
