I have seen sharks jump out of the water like that a lot in documentaries and shark week specials and on the shark dvds i have but never have i see a surfer in the picture with it!! i was yelling OH mY GoD out loud — that was awesome. I had to watch it again! =)
yes that is a spinner, a buddy of mine from new smyrna said that they don’t bite humans, but that one looked pretty big (but I have seen 5 foot leopard sharks that won’t bite)
We catch a lot of spinner sharks here in Charleston SC, fishing off the pier. Even the 1.5 footers have a sick set of teeth. I’ve been pretty nervous trying to pry those hooks out of there mouths.
