Smelly Shark Remains Wash Up On Florida Beach
Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

The remains of a shark washed up on Nokomis Beach, FL on Monday, but were washed back out to sea before scientists were able to confirm the species. Several beachgoers got a look at the carcass and Bob Hueter, director of the Center for Shark Research at Mote Marine, looked at photos of the carcass and couldn’t rule out the possibility that it was a Basking shark, but I guess we’ll never know.
Well… whatever species it was, apparently it didn’t smell too good.
