Half-Ton Shark Caught Off Irish Coast
Friday, June 19th, 2009

Joe Waldis reeled in what he believes to be the largest ever fish caught by a rod and line in Irish and British waters off the Clare coast yesterday.
The 12ft 9in long shark had to be transported by forklift.
Just so you know what’s out there.

Why… WHY can we not catch and release…people! Jesus!
Are YOU going to be the one to reach into that thing’s mouth and remove the hook and set it free?
Shark steaks for everyone!
Why can’t we catch and release? Because it’s YUMMY! Give me a 200LB lemon and a giant grill and we’ll eat like kings!
Oh cmon with large fish you dont reach in their mouth. You just cut the line.
Um… pretty sure this is a basking shark, which only eats plankton. Yes, big, but if you’re not a brine shrimp, nothing to be afraid of.
It’s a six-gill shark. Here’s a link:

What a waste.
Sixgill Shark Meat is NOT good eating. Fishing for sixgill is banned in many places because eating them will make you sick.
Catch and release, what a complete waste of a magnificent deepwater shark.
What a sad thing to see. Such a beautiful creature killed for no other reason than Man’s ego. Pathetic!!
Eat or get eaten…..
If it hadn’t been trying to steal this man’s bait, this wouldn’t have happened. Crime does not pay.
Human deaths by shark annually: under 10
Shark deaths by humans annually: 100,000,000
Many variety of shark are going extinct. Like the Lion they serve a purpose.
Shut up sailingk8, you ignorant cunt. Stop making up fake statistics.
