I just two days ago got bit by a shark on the foot. Fishing them is wrong and finning them is worse. I do not have any hatred toward sharks. We do more harm to them and we cause them more fear then they do to us.

Wow some of you guys are crazy.

I actually grew up swimming and wake boarding on the river this shark was caught in. Since I was old enough to be in the water(about six months old) I’ve spent my summers swimming off our dock, on a river connected to The Broad for 21 years. I’ve never been attacked by a shark or an aligator. In fact the closest I’ve ever come to something that lives in the river is a baby puffer fish and a sting ray at low tide. If you’re that afraid of what lives in the water, stay out of it! They were there first.

I wonder how many of you “shark lovers” actually spend any real time in the water. … You’ll change your tune when you see a large shark glide right under your surf board … but if you’re stuck watching Shark Week on your tv in a “fly over state” like Nebraska, then you’ll never understand what I’m talking about.

Great Job Sgt. Hollingsworth!!! There’s a lot of work for you to do out here in Guam!!! The oceans must be made safe for the surfers. Forget the sharks.

Im from there and im glad he caught this thing. The place where it was caught is populated by many many people everyday and i was afraid to go in the water after hearing about this. When did sharks become more important than people??? And Bren Keller Parris Island is Marine Corps base not the Army.

Sharks are very important for the ecosystem in our oceans. Killing such a great shark as tigers are, is out of order! When do people sea that sharks are so important for the ecosystem! So I’m not happy with this Hollingsworth catch of tiger sharks. It’s a shame he wasn’t caught by one.
