Shark Attack in Carlsbad?

A woman says she is recovering from bites received in a shark attack at Terramar Beach at Carlsbad, Calif.
Bethany Edmund of Encinitas, CA, said she was swimming at the Carlsbad beach Aug. 25 when she felt a sharp pain in her foot that she initially suspected was caused by an underwater reef or another swimmer.
“I literally felt someone took my ankle and yanked me backwards, and I thought it was the swimmers that were near me,” said Edmund.
Edmund, who was also taking underwater pictures, said the shark then smashed into her, giving her a big bruise on her thigh.
The shark attacked her again, leaving Edmund with a bite on her thigh and the frightened woman quickly ran to shore. Specifics of Edmund’s injuries were not reported, but KGTV said the Encinitas resident was back in the ocean two days after the attack.
An unidentified shark expert said the bite marks indicate it was a baby great white shark. The same expert suggested the shark may have mistook Edmund’s bright green toenail polish for a fish.

Great White Sharks are born with razor sharp teeth, and swim away from their mother from day one to hunt and fend for themselves. Once they reach 5 or 6 feet in length (like the juvenile great white that supposedly bit the Carlsbad woman), they should be able to rip what ever they bite to shreds. How come she wasn’t bleeding? Because a shark did not bite her, that’s why.
I dunno, it sounds fishy to me, no pun intended. An underwater photographer was there with camera in hand but no pictures of the shark or incident? Who is this unidentified expert as well? If she really got bit by a GW, she would have scars that taste like blood in the ocean even after 2 days of healing. Why would she go out so soon? I dunno…Jeff might have a point…
Yeah, don’t buy it! If there was that many people around and she had a camera someone would have gotten a picture. Guarantee it was some coral or a stingray, sounds like someone wants to be on TV or have a good story to tell!
you guys are idiots, there are shark sightings in surf lineups all the time. Plus, her bites were photographed – go check them out and then say it was a stingray. Lastly, coral??? seriously?
