They must have just put her in, she seems curious. After they’re there for a while they just kind of enjoy the free food. I like them though, sometimes they follow you through the glass.
Monterey Bay Aquarium plans to keep her until she’s 6’6″, or until she dies from the inability to dive to the cool, deep depths, whichever comes first. Haven’t they figured out that Great Whites don’t live well confined? How many do they have to kill? Great Whites need to dive to very deep depths, and this is a proven fact. That’s why tagged Great Whites (and other sharks) so often disappear for days, weeks, months and years at a time off the radar of scientists. They are diving so deep and swimming so far out of range of the tagging equipment – which is NORMAL. This shark will die in captivity.
Wild things are meant to stay WILD.
@ Jade
The Monterey Aquarium is the only place to have taken care of Great Whites in captivity. They have had at least 4 and none have died, that I have known of, and let them back out without any harm being done to them. So don’t worry about her.
Why Do I have visions of Jaws 3?
You can watch her everyday on their live streaming video. She’s doing great!
Hurry up and die, stupid shark! But eat Jade first…she’s annoying.
Re: Jade’s Comment:
Jade please give it a rest already Darling. All sharks should be killed and that’s all there is to it. End of story.
Jade is the perfect example of why women should not be allowed to comment or place posts on the web. Too touchy, feely!!! Kill the shark Jade!!! Just kill the damn thing already!!! Kill kill kill!!!
