Dead Shark Washes Up in Maine
Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

If it wasn’t already, swimming season at Pavilion Beach in Gloucester, Maine is definitely now over.
A dead shark was found in the western corner of the beach near Stacy Boulevard yesterday morning, after it apparently had washed ashore over night.
It was believed to be a juvenile mako shark around 3 feet in length. How it died is unclear.

First off, this shark is NOT a Mako, it is a Porbegale, the dead give away is the white spot on the bottom trailing edge of the dorsal fin. There are few if any true confirmed reports of them attacking humans and secondly, there IS NO Pavilion Beach in Gloucester, Maine GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT. (there is on in Massachusetts but we are not the same state ) Some one needs to go back to high school geography and a marine biology class would probably be a good idea if you are going to attempt to be some kind of authority on the subject of shark species that pose any real threat to humans. There were plenty of great whites in Gloucester Mass this year near the beaches but that is an entirely different issue. A little bit of disinformation is worse than no information at all.
