i believe that people shouid take very much care in were they swim and if there is anything suspicious in the water you shouid be catious and warn evryone around you (that is if u think what it is) I reckon people shouid keep safe in where they swim (not in deep far areas where noone can see you ofcourse) stay safe and always make sure that there are people around you and that you are not on your own (no matter what age you are.) i wouid also like to add that fiji shouid be responsible for there parts of their waters and shouid find some solution to severe shark attacks. because people come for holidays to relax and enjoy the beaches not to GET BITTIN! (soz for my spelling..
this message concludes everyone elses

Don't rule out a GWS, recent findings show that they regularly enter tropical waters, not sporadically as previously thought. And most that are in in the Southern Pacific follow a similar migration pattern.

Yeah most probably a tiger, but don't rule out a Great White because recent tagging show that they often migrate to tropical waters from the cooler southern pacific region. Also have seen videos of Youtube, one in particular, where the divers where literally feeling up the shark and they had their hands all over the shark, and I don't mean the occasional stroke as it swam past, I mean full on massaging the fish. The some hand fed it. I think thats gonna make them lose their cautiousness to people, and hand feeding them will make then associate people with food. The their more likely to investigate swimmers etc who are not aware of their presence and approach and wont be able to push them away.

I enjoy scuba diving very much. I have dove with 14' lemon sharks, and have never felt threatened. This was obviously a case of mistaken identity.

They are attracted by the bag of dead fish trailing nice smells through the water that's attached to the diver's gear. It's very unfortunate. Condolences to his family.

I agree with Casey. Especially because the body wasn't recovered. Sounds like a Tiger.

But I don't follow you, Collin.

This shark obviously went for the human and ate him. What do fish have to with the instant case?
