VIDEO: California Surfer Films Sharks While They Circle Him!

Chuck Patterson was SUP surfing with a couple friends when 2 sharks circled us for about 15 minutes. So the next day he decided to go back out with a camera mounted on a 10 ft pole and do some exploring.
Within 5 minutes a 9 ft shark came out of nowhere, circled twice and slapped its tail on his board before disappearing. Then, a minute later a 7 ft juvenile Great White swam circles around him for 12 minutes.

I agree… there would have been a ring of brown foam around me if that happened!
Instead of thanking his maker for not getting eaten he decides “I am gonna go back and film it!” brilliant! I think he just got voted most likely to appear on one of those caught on tape reality shows.
I applaud you for providing me with awesome footage! I LOVE seeing Real Shark encounters- that was so cool- glad you stayed safe too
great job… I would love to do something like that but I have a phobia of sharks. Keep safe
