Saturday, June 2nd, 2012
A person was bitten, possibly by a small shark, while swimming Thursday at a beach near Avon, according to the National Park Service.
The Avon Medical Clinic treated the victim, who was bitten in shallow water by what was described as a shark between 18 and 24 inches long. The medical clinic contacted the Park Service on Friday, according to spokeswoman Cyndy Holda.
The Park Service did not know the person’s age or condition.
