Box Office for Bethany?

Bethany Hamilton’s shark attack inspired a terribly titled book called Soul Surfer and thanks to America’s insatiable appetite for films about athletes’ insurmountable odds, and young ladies in bikinis, it may be inspiring a movie of the same corny name. The film will be based on Bethany’s ordeal and how, just two and a half months later, she was back on her surfboard.

The Australia Times is reporting that tween director Sean McNamara has committed to direct Soul Surfer after he finishes up his upcoming masterpiece Bratz: The Movie and that casting is currently in session.

Zac and Bethany Sittin’ in a Tree…

Bethany Hamilton paid a visit to fellow shark attack victim, Zac Golebiowski as he limped back on to the beach for the first time since his attack. Zac lost his right leg and a chunk of his left calf to a shark on December 2. Zac and Bethany talked about surfing, sharks and losing limbs.
