The Karate Kid Girl Signs On To Piranha 3D

elisabeth-shue-picture-4jpg
Oscar nominated actress Elisabeth Shue has apparently signed on to star in Alexandre Aja’s remake of Piranha 3-D. I’m guessing she’s not going for a second Best Actress nod with this one, but I’ll definitely be in line when it opens next March.

Endris Shark Attack: Re-enacted

A production crew from England has been in Monterey County for about a week filming the story of Todd Endris, the 25-year old Marina resident who was attacked while surfing on Aug. 28, 2007.

Endris suffered some serious bites to the lower back and thigh that morning causing him to lose half his blood. He survived thanks, in part, to three other surfers who brought him ashore. His wounds required 500 stitches and 200 staples to close.

But the story will actually focus on a pod of dolphins that were swimming near Endris when the shark attacked.

The shark bit Endris three times while he tried to fight it off but something caused the shark to let go after the third bite. Endris thinks the dolphins swimming near him might have saved him.

The four-person film crew with lifeguards from California State Parks and actors hired to portray Endris and the surfers who helped him, staged a re-enactment Monday at Marina State Beach.

The TV series is scheduled to air in the UK sometime in February and in the US sometime in 2009.

Shark In Venice!

Well, they’ve done it again. The talent pool who gave us Shark Attack, Shark Attack 2, Shark Attack 3: Megalodon, Shark Zone, and Raging Sharks are now blessing us with Shark in Venice, the story of a huge man-eating shark prowling the polluted waters of the Venice canals. A killer shark terrorizing gondolas… a treasure hunt… and Stephen Baldwin to boot? What’s not to love?

Alas, we Americans will have to wait but the DVD will be released in the UK this October.

Now watch the trailer.

MTV Dumps 20 People Into Shark-Infested Waters

The 16th season of Real World/Road Rules Challenge premieres tonight 10pm on MTV. And according to teasers, the contestants, 20 Real Worlders and Road Rulers are dropped off into shark-infested waters in Panama. Hot.

Cast members will face off in Cocas del Toro, yet in an unexpected turn of events, MTV is promising that this season will be different – no free-flowing alcohol at will, no cushy house, and no challenges “that call for sneaky alliances.”

Hmmm… sounds more like Survivor.

Well, at least crazy Tonya’s back. Maybe she’ll get eaten by a shark.
