A sand tiger shark at Dubai Aquarium is getting by with just one eye.
Wink, a four-year-old female sand tiger shark, was born with a birth defect resulting in one of her eyes not developing properly.
The Dubai Aquarium has more than 30 sand tiger sharks in its tank but Wink is the easiest one to spot because she looks like she’s flirting with you.

Wildlife officials are warning people against getting too close to a family of dolphins that have been hanging out in two New Jersey rivers, saying sharks have also been known to frequent the area.
Bull sharks, which have a pretty bad rep for attacking humans, have been known to swim in the same section of the Navesink River where the 15 wayward dolphins have been staying, said Bob Schoelkopf, co-director of the Marine Mammal Stranding Center in Brigantine.
“In that area are bull sharks that go in there quite frequently,” he said. “You never know what you might be looking at; it could be a dolphin or it could be a shark.”
Wildlife officials have been concerned about the increasing number of boaters and jetskiers getting too close to the dolphins, which have been in the area since June. Federal regulations require that boaters stay at least 50 yards away from the dolphins; harassing them is punishable by a $10,000 fine.
Schoelkopf said it might have been a shark that one man recently tried chasing after seeing something big break the surface of the water; the man’s wife later reported the encounter. Schoelkopf said the animal probably WAS NOT A DOLPHIN because it never resurfaced, which dolphins must do regularly to breathe.
He also said quite a few injured seals were found in the area with wounds from shark attacks.

Paul van Bruggen snapped these amazing pictures of a 8 ft saltie dining out on a shark on the banks of the Daly River, in Australia.
“We went past one section of the river and we heard some splashing,” he said.
“We looked across and saw a shark’s tail coming up out of the water and then a crocodile’s head came up and grabbed it.” Mr van Bruggen said the crocodile knew exactly what it was doing, dragging the shark on to unfamiliar dry land before finishing off its prey.
“How smart is the crocodile? It if was you or me it would be dragging you in to drown you, but it takes the shark up on dry land,” he said.
The fisherman, who was on the Daly River last Friday for the Barra Classic, said the crocodile definitely wanted shark for dinner.

Elle, the ragged tooth shark who was residing at the Two Oceans Aquarium in South Africa, was released into the sea about 50 miles out of Struisbaai, Cape Agulhas, around noon last Wednesday.
Apparently, she couldn’t wait to get a taste of freedom. She darted off in to the sea so fast, photogs didn’t even have time to adjust their lenses.

Amy Wino spent the past week at Bryan Adams’s villa in Mustique to freshen’ up for the new year. Apparently Amy says daily scuba diving trips with the Adams, and a gaggle of wild reef sharks at feeding time, have helped her kick her addictions.
“I’ve learnt to appreciate simple things, like the beauty of nature. And it’s taught me to face my fears. It’s a different world down there. I can look at things in a new way.
“I’ve come to the realisation that life is short, so I want to make sure I live every minute of it.â€
Yeah, right.
